Beautiful Unusual Golden Tabby Tiger

The very unusual Golden Tabby Tiger is sometimes known as Strawberry Tiger has light gold fur, pale legs and faint orange stripes. Its fur tends to be much thicker than normal. There are extremely few Golden Tabby Tigers in captivity, around 30 in all.

A Golden Tabby Tiger is one with an extremely rare color variation caused by a recessive gene and is currently only found in captive tigers. It is a color form and not a separate species. These tigers tend to be larger and all Golden Tabby Tigers have mainly Bengal parentage like their cousins -the White Tigers.

That is the wonder of nature

OMG! Wonder indeed. So so gorgeous. Look at that face and those piercing eyes. Just too beautiful

And yet it's trapped in a cage it's entire life. A horrible thing to do.

Actually, it's better that this particular tiger is in captivity. Its unique coloration, although beautiful, would be insufficient to camouflage it from its natural prey. Normal tigers have dark stripes to blend in with shadows in the grass. This poor tiger would stick out like a sore thumb in the wild, and would most likely either starve or shot by hunters/poachers. I'd personally rather have him alive and well cared-for.

"Trapped" in a cage?" i think you mean "protected" in a cage. Let this one out in the wild and in no time you will have a zero population of them. but a horrible thing to do, right?

Caging any animal is wrong. Yes, it's true that this tiger would most likely not survive long in the wild, however it is not out right to keep it in captivity. Keeping it confined in a cage and stripping it of its life in its natural habitat is, in my opinion, a fate worse than death.

So this tiger is better off dead that in a safe place where people care for him, feed him, tend to his medical needs etc? That's like saying all the stray cats at the pound are better off being euthanized than adopted into loving homes where they have to stay indoors.

It's not pretty- when they say this is brought on by recessive genes- that means the animal is so badly inbred it's recessive genes are doubling up so negative mutations that would normally be hidden are visible. It's siblings were probably still born or have Down's Syndrome or some other disorder. These inbred animals are put down all the time because they aren't viable or profitable for the breeders.

Very beautiful features, but sad that some people are making money by putting them in a cage

First off, this is Kashmir from Tiger Haven fascility that is a non-profit, closed to general public large cat rescue and haven center. Retired circus performers, animals wrongly bought as pets, ect. are purchased by Tiger Haven and given a life long home here. It`s not wrong to keep animals who were born in captivity in captivity. Did no one follow, or does anyone remember, what happened when they freed Keiko? (Star of Free Willy.)

People who would condemn animals born in captivity to being thrown into the wild are shallow individuals who only care about animals/nature on the surface.

And yes, Kashmir is very beautiful. Check Tiger Haven out at http://www.tigerhaven.org/ .

People who say it's wrong to keep animals in captivity (well cared for and protected) transfer their own HUMAN feelings on them as if animals actually know they are in captivity and express any degree of unhappiness. It's so ridiculous to read. The other day I saw these adorable pics of one pound deer, taken care of after his mother was killed on a road. Once he grows he will be also released into the wild -- only to be shot by hunters because now he will be "game". People, listen to yourself, how hypocritical you are! Either you love the animals, or you kill them. Be consistent. This tiger and gorgeous and happy, I'd hope he lives and breeds.

Animals DO suffer from loneliness and unhappiness.

Also, there is nothing wrong with hunting animals that aren't endangered, as long as you abide by the seasons. It is a far more humane way to die than the billions of animals that are slaughtered for meat etc.

Yes, animals do suffer from loneliness and unhappiness, but seriously, have you seen the enclosures created for them? I can't say anything about this tiger because I don't know anything about the zoo it comes from but most zoos have incredibly good enclosures for the animals and the animals are quite happy in those enclosures - happy meaning they aren't displaying signs of stress and as long as the five freedoms are applied, there isn't a reason to get all uptight about it.

An animal won't suffer from loneliness if it's a naturally solitary animal. The main thing they need is enrichment. If you don't think keeping a dog as a pet is cruel, then you would be hypocritical saying that a tiger living in a large enough enclosure with lots of enrichment is cruel.

THESE TIGERS ARE NOTHING BUT HUMANS PLAYING GOD BY GETTING BROTHER AND SISTER TIGER TO MATE OR SON AND MOMY AND SO ON. WHITE TIGERS AND THESE TIGERS ARE NOT FOUND IN THE WILD BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT WILD ANIMALS!!!

and for those who think they are sad and depressed because they arent free to run their natural habitat (even though they dont have one)thats like saying your cat is depressed because it doesnt get to run free in the wild. they were born into captivity and will never know any different so they are happy. put them in the wild they will surly die from all the things you say they have and more.
